The major storm that will barrel into the Mid-Atlantic Friday late afternoon/evening will not only bring heavy snow to some areas but it will also bring strong wind.
The combination of the heavy snow and strong wind has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Blizzard Watch until 6 a.m. Sunday.
This is the time that you should be making preparations for the first major storm of the season. Snow will pile up on roads very quickly and the wind and heavy snow may cause power outages.
Stock up on all the necessities because this storm will hang around for about a day and a half and even once it has moved on it will take a while to dig out.
