March in Maryland.  If you are a weather enthusiast, it's that time of year when you can really see it all.

And no where is that more true than in the week ahead.  In fact, in the current 7 Day Forecast (image attached), you will note both snow (Friday morning) and 70 degrees (Wednesday afternoon).

So in actuality, this dramatic shift will happen inside of roughly 5 days time.

Not to say we don't ever see "snow and 70F" on the same 7 Day Forecast during other times of the year.  April, October, November, and on rare occasion, December can also feature such short-term radical swings in the weather here in the Free State.

None the less, there is something about March when it comes to these radical shifts, particularly ones that trend rapidly warmer.  It's as if winter is doing it's best to maintain its final "death grip," yet Spring's power is overwhelming and it will simply not be denied, or at least, not denied for long.

So while we may have to shiver several more nights, and do at least one more slushy commute around Baltimore this Friday morning, take heart warm weather fans.  The (weather) "Ides of March" often bring little in the way of tragedy, and much in the way of sudden warmth!
