Hurricane Nate continues to gain strength as it quickly moves through the Gulf of Mexico. Nate, currently a category 1 storm with max sustained winds at 90 mph, is swiftly nearing the Central Gulf Coast.
The National Hurricane Center is forecasting Nate to make landfall as a category 2 hurricane tonight.
The moisture from Nate will get pulled up into the Mid-Atlantic Sunday into Monday, bringing beneficial rain to the region. Once the moisture from Nate exits, a cold front will sweep in on Tuesday and stall nearby, bringing multiple chances for showers through the middle to end of the week. Stay tuned!
