Summer is just around the corner now that Memorial Day is here - but the Tropics may be getting started early. The National Hurricane Center is tracking a system moving into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend and once it reaches those warm waters, conditions will be favorable for the storm system to intensify - possibly reaching tropical storm or weak hurricane status.
In the mean time, back in the Mid Atlantic our forecast this weekend will start off hot & muggy with temps near 90 for Friday & Saturday. The rainy changes arrive Saturday afternoon and evening as a warm front pushes back into the area - setting up a moisture return.
This unstable pattern will keep the chance for rain near Maryland Sunday and Monday and could even keep the rain around through the middle of next week.
