All eyes will be on the night sky on November 14th as the biggest, closest and brightest supermoon of the year will appear. It’s actually the closest supermoon since January 26, 1948 —and we won’t get another one like it until 2034.
What is a supermoon? Supermoon is the term that describes the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth
Astronomers call this type of close full moon a perigee full moon. The word perigee describes the moon’s closest point to Earth for any given month.
Fingers crossed for clear skies !
