The tropics are getting active, as another storm has formed. Tropical Storm Franklin, the 6th named storm of the 2017 Atlantic Hurricane season, developed late last night in the western Caribbean Sea.

Franklin will continue to strengthen possibly into a hurricane before it makes landfall in the Yucatan Peninsula late tonight/overnight. If it does become a hurricane it will be the 1st hurricane of 2017 in the Atlantic Basin.

Hurricane watches are up for the Yucatan coast. Franklin will move into the the Bay of Campeche before making a second landfall in eastern Mexico.

It is forecasted to stay away from the United States.
