The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado hit Salisbury Monday.
The tornado, measuring about 1 mile long and 100 to 150 yards wide, touched down with winds at 100-105 mph, causing extensive damage.

Eyewitnesses in the area said trees were split and cars were overturned during the storm. Homes and buildings were also damaged.
No injuries were reported.
