Drivers are stuck in major traffic jams in Savannah as people try to leave the area ahead of Hurricane Matthew.

Georgia's governor issued a mandatory evacuation for the roughly 500,000 people living along the state's coast. The evacuation covers all areas east of Interstate 95.

There are shelters open across the state.
