Several road closures in effect this weekend in Baltimore City

BALTIMORE — The Baltimore City Department of Transportation is advising motorists of several road closures this Saturday, September 14.

The Little Sisters of the Poor Nun Run 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, beginning at St. Mary's Seminary on Roland Avenue at 8 a.m.

The race will begin along the seminary driveway and participants will proceed right on Roland Avenue, right into second driveway entrance leading to the seminary, right on Northern Parkway (running in right lane of eastbound traffic), and right back onto Roland Avenue. The course proceeds right on Oakdale Drive, right on Boulder Lane, right to Goodwood Gardens, and left on Club Road. Participants will then turn right on Deepdene Road, then left on Roland Avenue, and left into the first driveway entrance leading to the front of Seminary Building to finish.

In preparation of the event, one lane of travel will be coned off and commuter should be advised that there may be temporary intersection closures.

Also on Saturday, the Donate Life Family Fun Run begins and ends along Ravens’ Walk at the Camden Yards Sports Complex and kicks off at 9 a.m.

Participants will start the run on Ravens' Walk and proceed north towards Camden Yards and Lee Street. The course proceeds from Lee Street to Russell Street, to Hamburg Street, then will loop around the industrial area near the stadium. Participants will proceed to Ostend Street, around Solo Gibbs Park, back to Hamburg Street and around M&T Bank Stadium to finish along Ravens' Walk.

One lane of travel will also be coned off for this run and travelers should be prepared for temporary intersection closures.

Street lighting work will be taking place along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway, causing temporary right lane closures between Falls Road and the county line from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A portion of Cathedral Street will be also be closed on Saturday for a special event. Cathedral Street will be closed to through traffic between Franklin and Mulberry Streets from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

A portion of McElderry Street will be closed for a crane lift operation on Saturday to through traffic between Wolfe and Washington Streets from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.
