As the Orioles continue to struggle, there has been constant buzz about the potential to trade away its biggest star, collecting young talent for a rebuild before coveted free agents leave in the offseason.
It looks like Manny Machado is actually fanning some of those flames, doing something some fans would consider a serious offense.
Take a look at this instagram post. It's a picture posted by Baseball Overload. It's of Machado geared up not in his usual O's get up... but in a Yankees uniform. There have been recent rumors about the possibily of Machado leaving Charm City for the Big Apple. Of course, Yankees fans can dream about Machado putting on pinstripes, but that's not the problem. What has people buzzing this morning is that Machado actually liked the post.
So the question is... could he be giving us all a hint that he wants to be traded to the Yankees? Or he is just another victim of accidentally double tapping. Machado has since un-liked the post, but not before countless people screenshot the photo and shared it all over social media.
Machado can be a free agent at the end of the season and can also be traded by the deadline at the end of the month. It will be interesting to see what kind of response he gets today when the O's face the Phillies at Camden Yards on Thursday night.
