BALTIMORE — The Goucher Men's Basketball team has announced a new assistant coach for the program, Owings Mills native and New Town High School standout, Sydney Hines.

Hines comes to Goucher after a four-year career on the women's team at Central Connecticut State University, where she amassed more than 400 points, 116 rebounds, 84 assists and 41 steals in 97 games.

Head Coach Tom Rose made the announcement on Thursday.

"It is with great pleasure that I am joining the Goucher College men's basketball program," said Hines. "My goal is to exercise my skills and expertise as a Division I student-athlete during my tenure with the Gophers. I am thankful to Director of Athletics Dr. Andrew Wu and Head Coach Tom Rose for giving me this opportunity. This is a great honor and privilege. I am extremely excited and eager to begin the next phase of my career at Goucher College."

Hines will become the second female men's basketball assistant coach in program history at Goucher after April Rose served as a men's basketball assistant coach for five seasons.
