Kalin Fisher scored a career-high 21 points, Lawrence Cooks added 15, and Hampton rallied to beat Coppin State 89-82 on Thursday night.
Branden Aughburns scored 12 points, Akim Mitchell had 11 for the Pirates (14-15, 11-5), who are seeded fourth in next week's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.
Trailing by as many as 10 in the second half, Hampton's AJ Astroth tied it at 68 and the Pirates led 75-72 with 4:29 left on Fisher's 3-pointer and layup. Coppin State closed to 81-79 on Tre' Thomas' two free throws, but Astroth hit three of four from the line for an 86-79 lead with 48 seconds left.
Coppin State closed to 86-82 on Dejuan Clayton's 3-point play, but Astroth made a free throw and Cooks dunked at the buzzer.
Thomas opened with a jumper and the Eagles led by as many as 11 in building a 45-39 halftime lead behind his 13 points.
Clayton scored 21 points for the Eagles (8-23, 7-8), who entered tied for seventh.
