Former University of Maryland guard Kevin Huerter was selected 19th overall in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks.

“Atlanta is a great fit for Kevin,” said Mark Turgeon, University of Maryland Head Coach. “I’m so happy I had the opportunity to spend the night in Albany with Kevin, his family and some of our team. The Hawks are getting a great player, person and an even better teammate. I’m so excited for this next step in Kevin’s life and can’t wait to follow his career."

As a sophomore, Heurter earned the honor of being All-Big Ten Honorable Mention selection after compiling one of the top three-point shooting seasons in Maryland history.

He's the 58th Terrapin all-time to be drafted, and the fourth player selected in the NBA Draft at Maryland under Head Coach Turgeon.
