Steve Smith Sr. gets emotional after training camp

Posted

Veteran wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. made it back to the field just in time for the final day of Ravens training camp.

Smith practiced for the first time Thursday since injuring his Achilles last November. After practice, the vet got emotional when talking about his rehab process and why he decided to come back.

"Because this organization gave me an opportunity," he said. "When I got hurt I felt like I let those guys down in the locker room. So for me to come back and play, it's to show them that I am dependable and that they can depend on me."

Smith also had a few choice words for those who doubt the 37-year-old.

It's unlikely that Smith will play Saturday in the team's second preseason matchup at Indianapolis, but he's ready to get back and show us all that's he got something left in the tank.
