Former Ravens Wide Receiver Derrick Mason turned himself in to Metro Nashville Police Monday.
A 43-year-old woman told detectives that Mason grabbed her by the neck and hit her in the stomach when she told him that she no longer wanted to be in a relationship, authorities say.
Mason was released on $12,500 bond Tuesday morning, police say.
The former Wide Out also faces a misdemeanor vandalism charge.
Mason played 15 seasons in the NFL, 6 of those were with the Ravens.
Mason is the franchise's all-time leader in receptions.
