For the first time, the Big Ten tournament finds itself on the East Coast. The Terps take on Northwestern Friday at 9 p.m. from the Verizon Center.

The last time the Terps won their postseason tournament, back in 2004 when they were still part of the ACC, it was at the Verizon Center. They're hoping for a repeat this weekend.

"All things got to come together for you this time of year," head coach Mark Turgeon said. "You look at the teams that advance in the tournaments and they're playing their best basketball.

"Every team is going to give you their best shot," junior point guard Melo Trimble said. "We're going to play our best too, as well. But when it's March it's a different approach."

The Terps fans will no doubt be in attendance Friday night, but Turgeon said he doesn't feel any added pressure.

"We're excited. I think our energy level is going to be terrific," he said.

The Terps are 11-2 away from Xfinity Center this season. One of those 11 wins includes a victory over Georgetown in Verizon Center. Now they're just three wins away from cutting down the nets.
