Terps hang on to defeat South Dakota State

The fifth seeded Terps hung on to an early game lead to defeat the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, 79-74 Friday night. 

Jake Layman was Maryland's leading scorer, with 27 points. Robert Carter recorded 11 rebounds.

The Terps will face No. 13 seed Hawaii Sunday.
