BALTIMORE, MD — A vigil and several other services are being held this week in honor of the late congressman Elijah Cummings.
There's a vigil today, Monday, October 21st at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Washington, D.C beginning at 12 p.m.
On Wednesday, there will be a public viewing on the campus of Morgan State University.
It will be at 10 a.m. at the Murphy Fine Arts Center, followed by a celebration of the Congressman's life, which starts that evening at 6 p.m.
On Thursday, the late Congressman will lie in state at the U-S Capitol, in Statuary Hall.
There will be a private ceremony for members of Congress, Cummings' family and invited guests followed a public viewing.
Cummings' funeral services will take place Friday at New Psalmist Baptist Church in Northwest Baltimore.
There will be a wake at 8 a.m Friday morning, followed by the funeral at 10 o'clock.
Congressman Elijah Cummings died on Thursday, because of long-standing health issues.
He was 68 years old.
