If you're looking for information regarding financial fitness, taxes or improving your credit, then this event may be of help to you!

Coming up on October 17, the 15th annual Money Power Day will be taking place virtually! This is the regions biggest free financial fitness fair and is in partnership with the nonprofit CASH Campaign of Maryland.

The event features tons of workshops, exhibitors and opportunities for participants to learn how to improve their financial futures.

Even if you're unable to join the full event day, you're still asked to register in advance if you're interested because you will have access to the entire event site for 30 days after the event!

"We have a full day of workshops that cover everything from home ownership to estate planning or information for small business owners or aspiring small business owners," said Courtney Bettle, Director of Financial Capability for the CASH Campaign of Maryland. "And then we've also included some new content specifically to address the financial crisis that we're in as a, as it relates to COVID."

If you've collected unemployment this year or had any other changes to your employment status, there is also a workshop dedicated to that as well as managing your cash during financial emergencies.

"If you want to meet with someone one-on-one to understand and ask more questions about what your tax liability may be or have a file or just have a question, definitely bring it to the Money Power Day," Bettle said. "This is a shady free zone. You don't have to be nervous about whatever questions that you have to ask. It's confusing out there. So we want people to feel confident in the advice that they're giving."

If you're looking to boost, monitor or protect your credit right now, they have a workshop for that as well!

"That's going to talk to talk about how you can boost your credit score, how you can monitor your credit and prevent identity theft. We'll also cover some specific provisions that are related to the economic crisis and relief that might be available for people who are trying to protect their credit right now," she explained.
