BALTIMORE — Looking to bring home a new furry friend? Look no further than our adoptable pets of the week!

Each week WMAR-2 News will be working with local shelters to feature some pets that are adoptable. This week we worked with BARCS and the Baltimore Humane Society.

Poe: Adoptable at BARCS

Meet handsome 3-year-old Poe! This boy came to us as an owner surrender. When he came in our medical staff realized Poe was having difficulty walking around. Upon further examination, it was confirmed his back left leg has a luxating patella, arthritis and a possible ligament tear.

Luckily for Poe, through one of our life-saving programs, a BARCS Franky Fund veterinarian will be performing surgery to correct his injuries. He needs someone who is willing to help nurse him back to health while he is recovering from surgery.

Poe is noted to be a very energetic happy boy. We can’t wait until he is fully healed and able to run around and play. With a long road ahead of him, he can’t wait until he finds his family and can rest and relax in the comfort of his very own home. Meet baby Poe today at BARCS Animal Shelter.
