CHURCHVILLE, Md — A new research facility is coming to Maryland.

A ground breaking ceremony for the Drone Research Facility Supporting Warfighters was held Monday at Harford Air Park. It will help support service members that are overseas.

Service Engineering is building the facility. The company is currently researching ways that unmanned drones can bring supplies to troops during battle.

"We are working on neural network technology to improve autonomy for the drones" said a Service Engineering employee. "We're also working on tactically secure global communications so that we can reach out to the drones, communicate with them and direct them from anywhere in the world".

The new facility is expected to be completed this summer.
