OCEAN CITY, Md. — A severed gas line forced a portion of the Ocean City Boardwalk to temporarily close Thursday morning.
The incident occurred around 10am near 8th Street and Washington Lane.
Fire crews closed off one block of the boardwalk in each direction from the scene.
Several nearby homes were also evacuated out of an abundance of caution, until the gas company could respond.
The hazard was resolved as of 11:23am, according to the Ocean City Fire Department.
