Former Baltimore City Mayor Sheila Dixon, who ran in the June Democratic Primary to become Mayor again, has conceded the race.
In a letter, shared on Twitter, she wrote, in part, "Today, I conclude my campaign the same way I began by saying- Thank you, Baltimore."
Dixon, at one point, led the race but as votes were being counted, weeks after the June 2nd Primary, Baltimore City Council President Brandon Scott took over the lead. He declared victory June 10th and is gearing up for the General Election in November.
In her concession letter she goes on to say, "... today, I yield. I formally concede and offer my sincerest congratulations to a young man who is a native of this city, a product of our public schools. a young man I have watched grow in public service; a young man I have conversed with on many issues and one who has secured the mayoral democratic nomination-- Brandon Scott."
