Facebook has launched a new tool that will allow you contact your congressmen through Facebook.

Town Hall allows users to find and connect with elected representatives. The tool prompts you to enter your address, then will show you the official accounts of your representatives. From there, you can choose to follow their account or contact.

The tool allows you to call the first number listed on the official account, send a Facebook message or send an email.

Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg says he wants to build a civically-engaged community by keeping people engaged in a thoughtful and informed way.

"The starting point is knowing who represents you and how you can make your voice heard on the decisions that affect your life. The more you engage with the political process, the more you can ensure it reflects your values," Zuckerberg said in a post.

The tool is available at Facebook.com/townhall. Zuckerberg says the company has started to release the tool in the U.S.
