FREDERICA, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have charged a man with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of drugs in the death of a Verizon worker in Kent County.

Troopers said in a news release that 27-year-old Zachary Krytzer of Milton was arrested Thursday after he was released from a hospital. He was released after posting $20,500 secured bond.

Investigators say 41-year-old Heath Janssen of Dover was struck Tuesday by an SUV while placing equipment into the back of his work truck after checking a phone line near Little Heaven. His vehicle was pulled on the shoulder near a gas station.

Police say Krytzer, the SUV's driver, drifted onto the shoulder, hitting a mailbox and a road reflector before striking and pinning Janssen to the back of his truck. Janssen died at the scene.
