JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- A New Jersey mall Easter bunny and a father who got into a scuffle have made their initial court appearances and had their bails set.

Kassim Charles and Juan Jimenez-Guerrero are charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. Charles' bail was set Tuesday at $20,000. Jimenez-Guerrero's bail was set at $25,000.

Charles was playing the role of the Easter bunny Sunday. Jimenez-Guerrero's toddler daughter slipped from a chair while getting her photo taken. Authorities say Jimenez-Guerrero verbally and physically attacked Charles.

A video posted online shows them exchanging punches at the Newport Centre in Jersey City.

Charles' girlfriend says he didn't throw the first punch. The mother of Jimenez-Guerrero's daughter says he "took a lot of punches" trying to protect the child.
