The NAACP is calling for a federal investigation following an alleged attack by a classmate on a black high school student involving a noose.
Families at Stone High School in Wiggins, Miss. are furious, after hearing a white football player put a noose around the neck of a black teammate.
The team's coach, Jean Feaster, who happens to be the school's first black head football coach, threw the white player off the team and says the focus should now be on the victim.
"I just feel terrible for him and this staff feels terrible for him and his teammates," Feaster said.
A school attorney says the student has been disciplined, but the Mississippi NAACP says it's not enough.
They are calling for the student to be expelled for a federal hate crime investigation, and formal charges filed.
