7-year-old gymnast is a double amputee

Posted

A 7-year-old isn't letting a double amputee keep her from gymnastics.

Autumn Fought suffered from a prenatal stroke before birth and was born prematurely.

At 3 and a half years old the muscles in her legs began to die, causing her extreme pain. That's when she underwent a bilateral amputation at the knee.

After surgery, Autumn's parents got into gymnastics and that's where she met Faith, her coach.

Faith teaches Autumn to over come her fears, but Autumn also teacher her coach.

"Autumn is very, very strong minded and loves to prove people wrong," Faith says.

The biggest thing Faith has learned from Autumn is to be brave.
