It's hard to imagine making it to your 100th birthday, but if you do, celebrate like Susan "Suzie" Carlin.
Family and friends held a big bash for Suzie on Tuesday at The Maples of Towson.
Suzie was born on February 28, 1917. She grew up on Riverside Ave. in south Baltimore and graduated from Southern High School.
In 1944, she married Army Sgt. Francis Carlin after the two met at a USO dance. They raised two sons in the Northwood neighborhood before moving to Towson in 1987.
Suzie worked as a secretary in the Political Economy Department at Johns Hopkins, something she contributes to her long life.
"I went to work every day and I liked it, but you have to like it," Suzie said.
Suzie retired in 1976.
