Smithsonian welcomes 10 new cheetah cubs

Posted

The Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute has welcomed 10 new cheetah cubs to their family.

The two large litters were born within a week of each other in March.

The average litter size is three, so it came as a great surprise when 'Happy' and 'Miti' welcomed five each.

This is the second generation of cubs born at the Institute in Virginia.

The cubs will be closely monitored over the next few weeks and will have their first veterinary exam when they are six weeks old.
