An amazing discovery tucked away in a college library has history buffs buzzing.

Historians in Upstate New York found a lock of George Washington's hair inside an almanac that was published in 1793.

The discovery was made at Union College's Schaffer Library in Schenectady. College officials believe the hair was given to Alexander Hamlton's son as a keepsake, a traditional gift for the time period. Washington was a friend of the Hamlton family.

Experts said even without a DNA test, they have no reason to doubt the hairs authenticity.
