A town in Alaska has lost their mayor, Stubbs the cat.
Stubbs was elected honorary mayor of Talkeetna in 1997 as a write-in.
He spent much of his mayoral tenure hanging out in his owners' local store, where he became a major tourist attraction. He also made a number of T.V. appearances.
Stubbs' owners are hinting that their other family cat, Denali would make a good successor.
