PARKVILLE, Md. — WMAR-2 News is committed to improving the lives of Veterans in Maryland by shining a light on their stories, struggles and triumphs. Every week a local veteran will be featured in our Veteran Spotlight contest.

This week's nominee is Eugene Antonelli of Parkville, who is a Vietnam Veteran that served in the Army as a Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division.

After the military, Antonelli worked in the printing business and later worked as a security guard at the Walter's Art Museum.

He is a loving husband to his wife of more than 50 years, Theresa, and he is also a proud father and grandfather.

His grandson, Jacob, actually nominated him for this award. He says his pop is his hero and that he is always there for him and their family.

Thank you for your service and dedication to our country.
