Playstation, Xbox networks down after Christmas hack

If you got a new video game for Christmas, you might not be able to log on just yet.

Two major video game services, Sony's Playstation Network and Microsoft's Xbox Live, were down Thursday for many across the country. A hacker group called Lizard Squad claimed responsibility, BBC reports.

Bloomberg reports that Lizard Squad may have ties to the Guardians of Peace, the North Korean hacker group that attacked Sony over the release of its film, "The Interview."

An online connection is a requirement to play many modern video games. Sony and Microsoft said they are investigating the latest attack and are trying to restore service.
