Applicants wanted for commission for veterans and military families, deadline in August

COLUMBIA, Md. — Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is seeking applicants who are interested in serving on the Commission for Veterans and Military Families, which assures that the issues of the country's veterans and military families are addressed effectively and efficiently.

The deadline to apply is Friday, August 23.

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must be Howard County residents, 18 years of age or older, have an interest in veteran and military family affairs and be able to attend the Commission's meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Howard County Community Resources Campus in Columbia.

Interested veterans and family members of veterans should send their resume and a brief letter explaining why they want to serve on the Commission to Kimberly Pruim, either by email tokpruim@howardcountymd.gov or by mail to: Howard County Government, Office of the County Executive, Attn: Kimberly Pruim, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD 21043. The names of eligible applicants will be submitted to the County Executive for approval and then to the County Council for confirmation.
