CLINTON, Md. (WMAR) — A woman was killed and five other people were hurt in a crash involving a school bus, tractor-trailer, and five other vehicles on Wednesday morning.

It happened at the intersection of Branch Avenue and Surratts Road in Clinton.

Prince George's County Police have identified the deceased as 32-year-old Shamika Brown.

The school bus driver and two passengers aboard suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Two additional drivers were also hurt but are expected to survive.

Investigators believe the tractor trailer was traveling southbound on Branch Road when it went through a red light, causing a chain reaction collision.

What caused the tractor trailer to go through the red light remains under investigation.

The Prince George's County States Attorney's Office will decide whether or not charges will be filed, once the investigation concludes.
