UPS trucks, center, packages damaged in Frederick County fire

Posted

An undetermined number of packages and 10 UPS trucks burned at a facility in Frederick Maryland Monday.

Frederick County fire officials were called to the scene around 11:40 p.m.

According to fire crews, it took 45 minutes to get the flames under control.

Officials said the building suffered mostly exterior damage since a sprinkler system activated inside the main structure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A UPS spokesperson said the company is working to identify and notify shippers of the damaged packages, as well as reroute packages that would have gone out on the damaged trucks.
