The Washington County Sheriff's Office released new information connecting Crystal Dawn Stanley and Jerry Wayne Smith Jr. to the homicide investigation of Margaret Rose McAllister.
While processing the crime scene, detectives discovered messages on McAllister's voicemail from several credit card companies concerning suspicious activity on her accounts.
Detectives used surveillance video to spot the suspects using McAllister's credit cards.
Stanley and Smith Jr. were arrested Sunday in Kingman, Ariz. after an Arizona State Trooper ran a registration check of the vehicle the pair were driving in and realized they were wanted.
McAllister's family found the 81-year-old's body inside her home in Hancock in Western Maryland on May 20.
Stanley and Smith Jr. waived extradition from Arizona and will be transported back to Maryland.
