The Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge on US Route 40 will experience temporary overnight lane closures as it's resurfaced next week, the Maryland Transportation Authority said.

Motorists will be detoured onto Maryland Route 222 to southbound I-95, where they will not have to pay a toll at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Highway toll plaza.

The bridge's westbound lane will be closed Sunday, June 24 through Tuesday, June 26 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

One of the bridge's eastbound lanes will be closed from Monday, June 25 through Friday, June 29, from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.

All repairs will weather permitted, and the MDTA asks motorist to slow down and stay alert when encountering construction zones.
