Caught on camera---a man tucked in the back corner of an Annapolis convenience store and gas station who proceeds to sneak back into an off-limits area where he would steal a few cartons of cigarettes.
An employee notified police through a silent alarm and within a matter of minutes they arrived to catch the thief in the act.
"They immediately detained him. From that moment, he was not cooperative,” said Cpl. Amy Miguez of the Annapolis Police Department. “They were searching him (and) found some small amount of drugs in his possession and during that he tries to bite one of our officers."
That's right---bite one of the officers.
"At that point, it was a shoplifting, and it's like, 'Who is this guy? What is he doing? Is there something else he's done that he doesn't want to be stopped for? How much of a danger can he pose to us?' Miguez said. “So when you start talking about bites and things like that, it's very dangerous for us and puts us at a severe health risk."
Ironically, the police sergeant the man snapped at happens to be a canine officer who may have been better prepared for it than your average cop.
Although he probably didn't expect it from a human.
