Maryland U.S. Senator, Chris Van Hollen received the STAR for Kids with Cancer Award for his support for the Childhood Cancer Star Act.
St. Baldrick's Foundation C.E.O, Kathleen Ruddy, presented the award to Senator Van Hollen and several other federal lawmakers.
President Donald Trump signed the legislation into law on June 5.
The goal of the law is to advance research into pediatric cancer and provide more resources for childhood cancer survivors.
