One of the most famous monuments in the country will be updated and back in business with some help from a Rocksville company.
Grunley Construction Company was awarded over $10 million to add upgrades to the Washington Monument in D.C.
According to the National Park Service, the company will build a new visitor screening center and upgrade the elevator system.
The Washington Monument has been closed since August of last year after elevator issues forced tourists to use the buildings 896 steps to evacuate.
Construction is expected to be done by 2019.
