"Road Rage" leads to shooting in Frederick County

A road rage incident led to a shooting in Frederick County Tuesday.

According to police, the two men started arguing while driving on US Route 340 before pulling over at the 7 mile marker.

The argument escalated to a physical fight between 26-year-old Darrell Baker from West Virginia and 52-year-old Paul Thompson from Maryland.

Thompson suffered two gunshot wounds, one to the left foot and the left thigh. He was treated at Shock Trauma and his injuries are classified as non-life threatening. 

Baker was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital for injuries to the head. He was released. 

The investigation is on going and no charges have been filed. Anyone with information should contact the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack at 301-600-4150.
