State police barracks throughout the state will participate in the National Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.
Coordinating with the Drug Enforcement Administration, each barrack will act as a collection point where citizens can come and dispose of unwanted or unused prescription drugs. The program aims to provide a safe, convenient, responsible way to dispose of these drugs and gain education about the potential abuses of prescription medicine.
During a similar initiative in October of 2017, Maryland State Police collected more than 2,500 pounds of prescription drugs.
