A man armed with a gun inside a residential neighborhood is shot after an encounter with police.
Montgomery County Police say the incident happened on Sunday just before 2:45 p.m. on Cross Laurel Court in Germantown.
Officers were initially called to the location for a report of a man in the street with a gun.
Upon their arrival, officers found a man in possession of a gun inside a cul-de-sac.
At some point during the encounter, officers shot the suspect.
He was transported by paramedics to a hospital in serious condition.
No officers were injured during the incident.
