Police were on the scene of an active investigation involving multiple fatalities.

Officials say the suspect, identified as Christopher Wilson Snyder, 41, died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

An investigation revealed three adults were shot and killed inside 22002 Brown Farm Way. Three others including the suspect's wife were able to escape unharmed.

After the shooting the suspect retreated to his residence located across the street at 22001 Brown Farm Way, where he later killed himself after a standoff with police.

Police believe the suspects wife went to the 22002 address, after she said her husband held her over the weekend in their home at 22001.

Montgomery County Police initially responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 22000 block of Brown Farm Way in Brookeville.

Arriving officers discovered multiple people dead.

Police said the suspect is known to law enforcement and was originally believed to be at large.
