Montgomery County police are investigating the death of a four-month-old baby in Gaithersburg.
Just before 10:30 Sunday morning police and fire crews responded to the parking lot of a Motel 6 located at 497 Quince Orchard Road for a baby that had stopped breathing.
When rescuers arrived they found an unresponsive baby girl, identified as Brooklyn Irby.
She was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation found the baby was in a car in the parking lot with family members prior to the 911 call.
The Office of the Medical Examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
