Frederick police arrested a man as he tried to flee the scene of an arson early Friday morning.
Police said around 4 a.m. Salvador Ramirez allegedly set several small fires outside of Doc Geiser’s Restaurant on North McCain Drive.
Ramirez was arrested as he tried to leave the scene. He was charged with arson and malicious burning.
According to witnesses and evidence at the scene, Ramirez used an accelerant to start the fires. Police said Ramirez had an issue with a restaurant employee and the arson was a targeted act.
