An online game leads to a school being threatened with violence.

On Saturday,  two juveniles were playing on an online gaming console when an unidentified user entered the game.

At some point, the unknown user learned the students lived in St Mary's County and attended Mechanicsville Elementary School. The user then threatened to shoot those at the school.

One of the students advised his parents who then notified the gaming console company. On Monday, June, 4 the threat was reported to St. Mary's County Public Schools at which time the Sheriff's Office was called.

The threat remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Rozier Steinbach at (301)-475-4200, extension 8055.
