A U.S. Park Police officer shot himself during a raccoon attack in Washington, D.C. Thursday.
Police said around 12 p.m., the officer shot himself in the foot while defending himself against a raccoon on Horse Stable Lane.
He was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Animal Control responded to the scene to retrieve the raccoon.
